My wife scheduled me an appt here because I have a broken crown that has abscessed and we don't have insurance and not poor enough to get medicaid. I was very excited she found this place that had advertised they offered sliding scale fees. I brought my pay stub as required but was told I didn't qualify for sliding scale. The reason??? This office DOES NOT look at your year to date pay. The same pay that uncle SAM uses to get his cut mind you, but this office makes up their own math system. I had to work during the flooding from hurricane Florence(with an abscessed tooth mind you) as I am a truck driver and we have to get goods to ppl even during severe weather. I am paid hazard pay during this time due to the risk to us drivers for driving during storms. Well this gave me more money for THAT ONE WEEK. This clinic takes that one week and multiplied by 52 giving me $32000 more than I actually make a yr! And then said well that's the figure we use...not the year to date! Since I don't qualify according to them I left in pain again same as I came in. They need to get an accurate account of ppl pay!
